Tumor suppressor genes are affected by both fusion-gene and non-fusion-gene TSVs and generate transcripts with various features. a ZFHX3 is fused with an intergenic region after exon 3. The transcript stops at the inserted region, losing the rest of the exons. b ZFHX3 is fused with a part of the MYLK3 anti-sense strand after exon 3. Codon and splicing signals are not preserved on anti-sense strands, thus, an MYLK3 anti-sense insertion acts like an intergenic region insertion and causes transcription to stop before reaching the rest of the ZFHX3 exons. c ASXL1 is fused with an intergenic region in the middle of exon 12. The resulting transcript contains a truncated ASXL1 exon 12 and intergenic sequence. d The first three exons of the ASXL1 gene are joined with the last three exons of PDRG1, resulting in a fused transcript containing six complete exons from both ASXL1 and PDRG1. chr chromosome, TSV transcriptomic structural variant
