Phylogeny of the dictyostelids. Orthologs (389) defined by pairwise genome comparisons for reciprocal best hits using BLASTP from human [100] versus each of Oryzias latipes [100], Gallus gallus [100], Branchiostoma floridae [101], Nematostella vectensis [28], Neurospora crassa (Broad release 7) [102], Arabidopsis thaliana (TAIR8) [103], Chlamydomonas reinhardtii [104], Dictyostelium discoideum [14], plus D. discoideum versus each of D. purpureum, and Entamoeba histolytica [22]. A concatenated alignment of the orthologs was analyzed with mrBayes 3.1.2 using the WAG model, I + Gamma for 100,000 generations, with the first 50% of sampled trees discarded. The resulting consensus tree was rooted at the midpoint of the branch connecting the green plants to the rest of the tree.
