Tot, the total number of ESTs in the POPULUSDB. Note that the Y library was partially subtracted and only 1,395 ESTs were sequenced from this library. E represents BLASTX statistics for the most similar Arabidopsis gene. The expression ratio was calculated between gene expression in sample B (fiber-cell death) and sample A (early fiber development). Several transcripts were represented on the microarray by multiple cDNA clones. The asterisks denote statistically significant differences in gene expression when P < 0.001 and B > 0.
