The vertical axis measures distance from the centromere, divided by the length of the chromosome arm in which a given element is inserted: the value of 0.0 corresponds to the position of the centromeres and 1.0 to telomeres. Box heights indicate the inter-quartile range and widths are proportional to sample size; red bands represent 95% confidence limits on the median; and the green stripe marks the median value of each sample. Coordinates for the approximate centers of the centromeres on the chromosome sequences were set at 14.70 Mbp for chromosome I (total length 30.14 Mbp), at 3.70 Mbp for II (19.85 Mbp), at 13.70 Mbp for III (23.76 Mbp), at 3.10 Mbp for IV (17.79 Mbp), and at 11.80 Mbp for V (26.99 Mbp).
