Signal detection accuracy comparisons of PSCAN-M, PSCAN-V, SCAN1D-M, SCAN1D-V, and single variant (SV) analysis. Sensitivity and specificity were calculated to measure the performance of the signal detection methods at α=0.05 level. In each measure, the left panel assumes unidirectional genetic effects and the right panel assumes bidirectional effects; the upper panel assumes 10% of the variants are causal and the lower panel assumes 50% of the variants are causal. For each configuration, low (ρ=0.1), medium (ρ=0.25) and high (ρ=1) dispersion levels of signal variants are considered
