Protein complex formation, including clock proteins and the transcriptional machinery, controls the rhythms of chromatin modifications and nascent RNA of clock genes. Rhythmic binding of RVE8 (REVEILLE8) to the target clock promoters and its interactor LNKs (NIGHT LIGHT-INDUCIBLE AND CLOCK-REGULATE) facilitates the rhythmic recruitment of the transcriptional machinery, and the FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription) complex.
