Neurogenomics of speech and language disorders. Next-generation sequencing will yield large datasets of genomic variants with potential relevance for speech and language. Identification of key variants is critically dependent on multidisciplinary studies of function in cell lines, animal models and humans, along with integration of data on neurogenetic networks, as detailed in the text.
