The two groups were compared using unpaired Welch's t-test followed by adjustment for multiple comparisons. ALR_ methylation was significantly different between the CTRL and EsCM group (* P < 0.05) while ALR, ALR1, and ALRb methylation levels were highly significantly different between the two groups (** P < 0.01).
