The distribution of each mRNA along the 12 fractions is shown in a percentile scale, which was the average of two independent gradient fractionations. (b) Percentile polysomal distribution of RpL36 mRNA and α-catenin mRNA by the measurement of microarrays: x-axis, individual fractions; y-axis, the percentage of a mRNA species in individual fractions. Two sets of microarrays prepared from independent gradient-fractionated RNAs are shown as the open and closed circles individually. The first point is the sum of mRNAs from the first five non-polysomal fractions (fractions 1-5).
