Significance of ligand predictors for cytokine release residuals. Data from TLR ligand stimulation were (a) included or (b) excluded. Residuals of cytokine release measurements were calculated from PCR models using signaling pathways as predictors. PCR analyses were performed on the residuals as described in Materials and methods. Averaged ratios outside a 95% confidence interval after noise correction (horizontal dashed lines) are considered significant. Since these residuals also carry noise, we applied a corrective factor to set a higher confidence interval to identify significant ligands (see Materials and methods).
