Also shown are the number of protein records in GenBank, number of worldwide species, and human impact estimate (see text for further details). In each case the proportion of the circle that is black indicates the number relative to the order with the highest value for each measure (the highest ranking order being shown with a filled circle). The last column shows a composite ranking of orders assuming that equal weight is given to each of these criteria.
