  1. Scores for physiologic RSS were ranked in ascending order so that the lowest score was ranked 0, the second lowest score was ranked 1, and so on. For each score, the number of physiologic RSS with a lower score is equal to this rank. We took the lowest 5% of scores under each model as the test thresholds for that model: ranks 0 through 10 were used for the three 12-RSS models and ranks 0 through 8 were used for the three 23-RSS models. For each of these threshold scores, we counted the number of non-RSS in the chromosome 8 sequence AC084823 that scored above the threshold. The threshold score, the count, and its relative frequency are shown.
