The two major subclades are labeled S1 and S2 and the location of the S. pneumoniae YlxR (PDB 1G2R) in the phylogeny is shown (YlxR S). The large blue and yellow circles indicate the two major subclades; minor subclades are indicated by black squares; small colored circles represent minor subclades belonging to major subclades. (b) Results of analysis of the five minor subclades mapped onto the three-dimensional structure of YlxR. The position score corresponds to the color coding in Figure 4. (c) Sequence conservation comparison between the two major subclades. Residues are coloured blue or yellow according to their conservation in either subclade.
